The objectives of this study were to identify the most significant environmental impacts related to each of the life cycle phases of the tomato ketchup as well as to find the gaps on information and applicability of LCA method to food. Every life cycle phase was included and analyzed based on the use of primary energy and potential contributions to global warming, ozone depletion, acidification, eutrophication, photo-oxidant formation, human toxicity and ecotoxicity.
